Atty. Erlinda Bulaong attended the Ateneo de Manila Univsersity School of Law from 1968 to 1972 and passed the Philippine Bar in 1972.
After being a lawyer in 1972, she joined the National Food Authority (NFA) as Registration and Licensing Officer in the same year. While in NFA, she occupied several positions, including Regional Director, Region XI, Operations Specialist and Assistant Director for Non-Grains Operations, NFA Central Office. In 1989, she availed of the NFA early retirement program.
After her retirement from a very fruitful government service, she joined Ferrer Law in 1990. She is also connected as Director/Legal Consultant of Valueland Properties Inc., Right Angle Properties, Inc., and Natureway Properties, Inc. All of these are real estate firms where she and her partners now give most of their time in matching job opportunities and helping provide affordable housing for the Filipino people.
From 2002 to 2004, she was part of First Gentleman Jose Miguel T. Arroyo’s Free Legal Aid Project. During the legal clinic’s operation, the number of clients every Saturday ranged from 39 to 60. It served a total of 3, 607 clients before it closed in December 2004.
Since 2007, Atty. Bulaong is also a volunteer lawyer in the Legal Aid Desk of Quezon City’s Gender and Development Resource Coordinating Office (GADRCO). She provides free legal assistance to employees and residents of Quezon City on cases related to gender discrimination and violation of human and women’s rights. Services include counseling, documentation and other legal services, short of representation.
